“This house IS NOT a democracy!” How many times did you ever hear your parents say (or scream) that? And how often do you say it now?

Lizzie and Jane are on the cusp of GenX. We continually search for our spot (past and present) in the great game of generational generalization.

‘Twas the Night Before the Tablet

UPDATE:
And here it is!  Follow the presentation of the new iPad and check out all the cool things it does!

‘Twas night before The Tablet, when all through our house,
all were researching, with iPhone, not mouse.
Thing One staying up, excited with Dad,
while Thing Two gently sleeps, tiny tech dreams to be had…

Steve J had assured us, it was the next biggest thing,
bigger than iMac, and iPhone with Bling.
An iPad? An iSlate? WiFi and 3G?
To get better coverage, Verizon it better had be.

When from Cupertino, there arose such a clatter,
we rushed online, to see what was the matter!
Fired up the new MacBookPro, using Safari,
(remember the good old days of Atari?)

On Geek Blogs!  On News Chat!  On CNBC!
The new device was all over TV!
Up sales! Up stocks!  Up Microsoft’s bum!
we hoped all would stay up, when the hoopla was done…

And then in a moment, I saw on the screen
Mr. Steve J, in black turtle and jeans.
His eyes, how they twinkled, his smile so merry,
Out to crush the Zune, the Nook and Blackberry

He was skinny and taut, like a spry old elf
And I gushed when I saw him, in spite of myself
He took the stage, turned his RDF on
(Reality distortion field,) all sensibility gone.

He spoke a few words, showed us his new work
Would he fill our high hopes, or turn out a jerk?
He pushed a few buttons, the screen then obeyed
Was it The Product the geeks had all said?

The crowd, they all ooh’d, then they all aah’d
Even the diehard critic’s small heart was thawed…
Then laying a finger aside of his nose,
Giving his Nod, up the Apple stock rose!

He sprang to his limo, gave the Geek Press a shout
And away they all ran, to Tweet it was out!
We heard Steve J cry, as he drove out of sight,
Apple wins again, and to all a good night!
